We passed the Manam volcano shortly before dinner
time. Approaching the volcano a dim red glare became apparent in
the sky. As we got closer it was clear that the volcano was
actively erupting. Lava was streaming down the side. Bombs were
actively being thrown out of the top and rolling down the sides.
All of this was reflected by clouds near the summit. This picture
does not do the sight justice.
